Proud to Serve, a segment on Fox 2 News in St. Louis, highlights local military veterans and first responders who have given both to our community and to our country. Serving the greater St. Louis area, Brown & Brown is proud to support this recognition of men and women who have made a difference at home and throughout the world.
September’s Proud to Serve award recipient is Captain Paul Seemayer, a paramedic and firefighter with the Fenton Fire Department. 30 year ago, Captain Seemayer started volunteering with his local fire department. Having been with the Fenton Fire Department for 24 years, he helped start the CERT training program and takes great pride in his station, one of only 60 in the United States with international accreditation.
In addition to being active in the fire department, Captain Seemayer and his wife have fostered more than 50 children over the past 20 years – and adopted three. Focusing on children who need emergency placement, Captain Seemayer has played a vital role in the lives of some of the city’s most at-risk youth.
